A concluded anniversary exhibition on the Gagarin flight: documents, hardware and the chronicle of 12 April 1961.
The exhibition reconstructed a single day — 12 April 1961 — minute by minute: from reveille in the cottage at Site 2 to the report at an airfield near Moscow. Its foundation was the declassified transcripts of Kedr’s radio exchanges with the ground.
Exhibits included the Vostok descent module, the SK-1 spacesuit and the Globus IMP from the spacecraft console. A section on Sputnik recalled where the road to human flight began.
Delegations from twenty countries visited; the visitors’ book has been digitised and is available in the museum reading room.
