Soyuz T (descent module)

Third-generation transport spacecraft

In the museum reserve
After the Soyuz-11 crew died of depressurisation the third couch was removed — pressure suits did not fit. Soyuz T restored the three-seat layout with a new couch and a rearranged panel while keeping the Sokol rescue suits. The main innovation was the Argon-16 onboard digital computer, which took over rendezvous and descent control. The ship flew from 1979 to 1986 and was the transitional step to the TM series. The module is kept in the HANGAR-Z reserve; the interior is complete and the skin has not been restored.
