R-855 survival radio

Portable crew-locating radio

On display
After landing, a descent module may end up in taiga, steppe or water hundreds of kilometres off the planned point. The R-855 works on the 121.5 MHz emergency frequency in two modes: an automatic beacon for direction finding and voice contact with rescuers. The set is built for frost, water and impact: a sealed case, a manual antenna, a battery with long shelf life. The kit was completed by a flare pistol, a signal mirror and the Komar beacon. On display is the radio with its antenna and the survival-kit stowage.
