Cosmonaut control console
Spacecraft control station
On display
The console was designed for work in a pressure suit and under g-load: large toggles with guard brackets, legends on illuminated annunciators. The command-signal unit let the crew dial a command number and confirm it with a separate button — protection against accidental actuation.
The console logic changed little over decades: crews of different generations found a familiar layout, which shortened training. That conservatism in crewed hardware is a deliberate decision, not a lag.
On display is a console with a power simulator connected; the annunciators light in demonstration mode.
