Hands-on placements in collections, restoration and education for students and early-career professionals
Two intakes a year
Spring and autumn intakes of eight weeks each. Internships are paid, and the strongest participants are invited to join the staff.
Internship tracks
Inventory, digitisation and attribution of objects, from cockpit instruments to complete airframes. Mentored by the chief curator.
Workshop practice under the guidance of restorers: conservation of metal, fabric and paint finishes on historic aircraft.
Designing and running workshops, supporting school tours and the children’s discovery centre.
