Sukhoi Su-25
Armoured close-support aircraft
معروض
The Su-25 inherits the idea of the Il-2: the pilot sits in a welded titanium bathtub, the fuel tanks are filled with polyurethane foam, duplicated systems are separated along the sides. The straight wing with ten hardpoints allows precise, sustained work at low speed.
The type served through the Afghan war, which confirmed the central idea of the project — survivability: machines returned with dozens of holes, on one engine, with half a tailplane. Simple maintenance allowed sorties from unpaved strips.
The museum machine was transferred from a flight school; rocket pods and a gun container are displayed under the wing. A separate cutaway model shows the armoured cockpit.
