The An-225 was created for a specific task: to bring Buran and Energia components from the factories to Baikonur. Six engines, a twin fin to stay clear of the payload's wake, and a fuselage designed for an external load of up to two hundred tonnes.
One example was built and flew from 1988. The model shows the configuration with Buran attached — a combination seen in the flesh only a few times.
On display in a case with a detachable orbiter and a diagram of the attachment points.
